ABIAKUM MACBETH AS IT IS WRITTEN – Exo 24:12, Jos 1:8-9

Introduction: As it is written, is a basis upon which one makes a claim base on agreed terms and conditions. It is often used when one wants to justify or vindicate him or herself. A lawyer for example will defend his or her client based on the written laws or the constitution.

In order for the spirit of God not to continually strife with the man he created, God had to give him a set of rules and instructions to guide him in his walk with God. As a result, God will never do anything that is outside his written Word.

Therefore if we must receive anything from God, we must base our requests on the written Word of God because:

The written word reveals the mind and plan of God for us – Jer. 29:11
The written word is that which God expects us to do in our work with him – Deut.30:1
The written word is the Constitution of the believer – Deut. 30:15-20
These words are Ye and Amen. God honors them more than His name – Ps.138:2

The word of God is aimed at achieving two things for the believer:
1                    To win, to attain victory against the wiles of the enemy (Attacking Mechanism)
2                    To avoid defeat, by resisting the devil (Defensive Mechanism)

In the game of football, if a team must win, the players must do two things. Score more goals and conceive fewer goals. The same strategy is applicable to the believer if he must win the battle over his soul.

THE WORD AS AN ATTACKING MECHANISM:
The only person that is against the manifestations and the fulfillment of the word of God in the life of a believer is the devil and he does so by sowing a seed of doubt and unbelief in his heart. This makes it to look as if God is a liar [which is not]who cannot fulfill his own side of the agreement. Ps. 138:2 Thus, if you must receive anything from God, or you want him to do anything for you, your request must be based on the written Word.  The reason His word say they overcame him [devil] by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. - Rev. 12:11.

For example, If you want to win a fight and you want God to help you, you must use His Word to draw His attention to your situation
He says in His Word ‘the battle is not to the shift – Eccl. 9:11
There shall be none barren in the land – Exo.23:26
Call upon me in the day of trouble and a will deliver you – Ps. 50:15

THE WORD AS A DEFENSIVE MECHANISM:
When the devil wants to raise his ugly head against you, the best thing to do is to tell him what the Word says concerning you. This is so important because the devil will not attack you outside the Word. All he does is to negate the Word and cause you to go against it
Jesus is our perfect example. Hear what He told Satan in the conversation in Matt. 4:4-10
Give your own examples of scriptures you can use as attacking or defensive mechanisms against the devil.

CONCLUSION: God will not do anything outside His written Words. Don’t spend your time crying, waiting, or praying outside the content of the Word. You should and must learn to speak the Word with Faith to every situation, because when faith is in action, God has no option than to do the miraculous!
