ABIAKUM MACBETH VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIVING: Bible Ref. Eph 6: 10- 18
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Victorious
Christian Living simply means living a life of victory as a Christian. For
there to victory, there must be a fight, a battle or a struggle and he that
wins is said to be victorious.
Victory really does not come cheap. You work for
it. The bible says since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God
suffereth violent and the violent taketh it by force (Matt 11:12), (Ephesians
6:10-18) say for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against
principalities and powers. Jesus told His disciples that they will be
persecuted for His name’s sake, (Lk 21:12)
OUTLINE 1: BATTLES WE
MUST FIGHT AS CHRISTIANS:
As
a Christian, there are so many unplanned battles that you have to fight. Being
a lone ranger, swimming against the tides, persecutions, temptations, appetites,
anti-societal norms,
OUTLINE 2: HOW THE ENEMY
WAGES WAR AGAINST US:
Wiles
of the devil refers to the tricks or manipulations, or clever schemes that the
devil uses to deceive or ensnare us either through temptations, threats,
intimidation, and falsifications of the truth. 2cor2:11

in the negative
3

Fear. This is the greatest
weapons that the devil uses against Christians. What are the things the
Christian is afraid of? What does the word say about fear. (501times), 2Tim 1:7
OUTLINE 3: OUR WEAPONS
OF WARFARE:
Put
on the whole armour of God so we might be able to stand against the wiles of
the devil since we are not fighting flesh and blood. These weapons include:
·
Gird your loins with
Truth
·
breastplate of Righteousness
·
Gospel of peace for your
feet
·
[Above all] Shield of
faith
·
Helmet of salvation
·
The word of God which is
your sword
·
Praying in the Spirit
·
Perseverance
CONCLUSION: The enemy of the believer is not a
physical one (brother, sister, father or mother). The enemy is satan and the
fallen angels (demons) manifesting in form of principalities and powers, rulers
of darkness, spiritual wickedness. And their primary aim is to cause man to
fall by turning his back against his Maker. Thus, if the believer must live a
victorious life, he has to use the right weapons to fight the enemy.
The most powerful of all his weapons is to surrender
himself unto the Lord so the Lord can fight for him. This is because he cannot
even see his enemy. The enemy is invisible to the physical eyes. Even when they
come against you as a flood, the Lord promises to raise a standard against them
(Is.59:19. The Battle is of the Lord
(1Sam 17:47); Exo. 14:14, Ps 136.
