ABIAKUM MACBETH OF FAITH AND SIN: Bible Ref: Gen 2:7-9, Gal. 5:16

LESSON INTRODUCTION:
Faith is a fundamental Christian belief. It is the foundation of Christianity. (Heb 11:6)
It is the first eternal law that the creator set in motion at creation, and it is the principle which God used in creating the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:ff, Rom. 4:17B) This law is evident everywhere in scripture though it is in the form of fragments. It is thus the work of the Holy Spirit to help the believer put these fragments together so that the believer can see the whole picture of who God is and how to walk with him. (John 14:26, 16:12-15, Gal. 5:16)

From our bible text, we can see the formation of the soul with its constituent parts,            (Soul = Dust + Spirit) Man became a living soul only after God breathed into his nostrils the breath of LIFE. The breath of life is that part in us that connects us to God and makes us gods. (Rom.8:16) Without this breath we are nothing. (Gen 3:19) Thus, when man sinned in the garden by turning against God, there was a disconnect between man and God. Since then man had been struggling to connect back to God.
OF FAITH

Faith, being the first creative force was meant for man to use it to dominate, subdue and conquer the earth. (Gen1:28) But when Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, Faith was necessary to connect him back to God first before he could have dominion over the earth.
Faith could therefore be described as the bridge or the link that connects man to God while Sin is that which separates us from God and connects us to the devil.

OF SIN
Sin could simply be defined as a rebellion against God. The law of sin was activated in the Garden of Eden when man disobeyed God and heeded to the voice of the Serpent.
The symbolic trees in the Garden of Eden

1                    The Tree pleasant to the eyes and good for food
2                    The Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil
3                    The Tree of Life
The tree good for food was meant to feed the body (dust). The Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil (Soul), and The Tree of Life represents the Spirit of God.

The Soul thus, survives on the Tree good for food and the Tree of Life. Since the Tree of Life was taken away, the soul depended on the Tree that is good for food. Lust of the Flesh, Lust of the Eyes, Pride of Life.

Christ came to restore Life (Tree of Life) that was taken away from the Garden of Eden. We can only eat of this tree by Faith and this is the whole essence of Christianity. (John 6:33, Rev 22:2)
So, when your soul feeds on the tree that is good for food, i.e. the Lust of the Eyes, Pride of Life and the Lust of the Flesh, you fulfill the law of Sin. But when your soul feeds on the Tree of Life, you fulfill the law of Faith, i.e. you and God becoming one. While Faith is becoming one with God, Sin is separation from God. Gal 5:16 -21

This knowledge helps to believer to know his or her stand with God. Am I Sinking in Sin or Standing in Faith. If in sin, all that is needed is for that soul to repent and make a U-turn back to the path of righteousness. If in Faith, then the soul just needs to measure the realm of faith in which he or she operates and take advantage of each realm to dominate his or her world.

THE REALMS OF FAITH:
1                    The Staggered or the Pendulum-like Realm.
2                    The Unstaggered or Unwavering Realm.
3                    The Creative Realm.
