LESSON INTRODUCTION:
Faith
is one of the eternal principles
that God set in motion at creation. It is the power through which the whole world was created. It is the first
active law or principle that the Creator put in motion. Faith, just like any
other principle that operates in the universe works on autopilot once activated
or acted upon. It produces the same result anywhere, anytime. It could be
compared to the physical law of gravity or any other scientific laws we know of
today such the laws of magnetism, flotation, electrolysis, demand and supply
etc.
Faith
could be compared to the walking stick of the believer because of the
characteristics it shares with a walking stick. A walking stick could be used (1)
for Support, (2) as a Guide, and (3) as a Companion.
In
this study, we will look at the characteristics of faith, the three realms of
faith, and some heroes of faith in the bible who used this eternal principle as
their walking stick, and most importantly how a Christian ought to activate and
use the power of faith not just for support, guide, or companionship but for
creation or the working of miracles.
THE CHARACTERISTICS OF
FAITH (Heb. 11:1-3) there are 3 basic laws
that govern the operations of faith.
1
You will receive only the
things you believe and hold on to by faith.
2
You can only create
those things you hope for and believe in by faith.
3
Without faith, you can’t
get anything from God
THE REALMS OF FAITH:
There are also 3 realms in which faith operates. There are:
1
The Staggered or the Pendulum-like Realm. In this realm the believer
swings between faith, hope and sometimes doubt or unbelief. Very little is
achieved in this realm. ( Matt 13: 54-58, Matt 17: 20, Rom. 3: 3-4)
2
The Unstaggered or Unwavering Realm. In this realm, the believer
believes the word, hold unto the word until it produces results. In this realm
the grace of God is required most to assist the believer to get the desired
results. (Eph.2:9, Matt 9:21,
3
The Creative Realm. (Heb. 11:3, Rom. 4 17B) In this realm, the believer do not just hold
unto the word, but acts on the word by speaking the word until every word
spoken in this realm takes a FORM in the physical. In this realm, it is the
spirit of the believer connecting with the spirit of God which is the creative
part of God to create things into existence. It is in this realm that miracles
take place by the spoken word. It is the most powerful realm that only a few
have attained or entered into.
In
my study of scriptures and in observing the workings of the Holy Spirit in the
church today, I have seen pastors, evangelists, prophets, teachers, enter into
this realm (Creative Realm) and wrought miracles even without knowing by just
speaking the word. Some apostles and prophets of old too entered this realm and
worked mighty miracles. (Acts 12:19, Acts 3:6)
HEROES OF FAITH AND THE
REALMS OF FAITH IN WHICH THEY OPERATED
(Heb.: 11:1-ff)
Questions
and answers: Lets discuss the realm of faith each of these heroes operated in and
the result that was produced
The
Elders, Abraham, Abel, Enoch, Noah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rehab, Gideon,
Balak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, the Prophets etc.
HOW TO OPERATE IN THE
REALMS OF FAITH
Many
Christians do not operate in the realm of faith as a result of sin. Sin is
sinking them and they are far away from the presence of God. (Gal. 5: 16)
Accessed Denied!
Some
do but remained at the lowest realm of faith, i.e. the Staggering or
Pendulum-like realm where they are tossed around like children by all manners
of doctrines. (Eph. 4: 14, Jam.1:6)
To
operate in any of the realm of faith, one must be born-again and ready to serve
Christ until his appearing. One must
also decide the realm in which he or she wants to operate because there is
always a price to pay for each of the realms of faith.
CONCLUSION:
Faith
is so powerful that it is mentioned at least 280 times in the New Testament
alone. It is the power that helped Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry. And
Christ emphasized the use of faith to be the walking stick of the believer
because he knows that without faith, it will be impossible for the believer to
please God. (Heb. 11: 6). We can only come to Him by faith in Christ Jesus! The
reasons Christ always required a measure of faith from the people that came to
him for healing and deliverance.
Question:
What realm of faith are you operating in since you surrendered your life to
Christ?
