ABIAKUM MACBETH WHAT CAN YOUR FAITH DO : Heb 11:1-3
LESSON AIM: To encourage
believers to work in faith and to create their first miracle.
Everything we will ever
need to succeed here in the world is in this world. Nothing will ever come from
heaven because that which ought to come from heaven has come.
Faith
is a fundamental Christian belief and it is the foundation of Christianity.
(Heb 11:6) It is the first eternal law that the creator set in motion at
creation, and it is the principle with which God created the heavens and the
earth (Gen 1:ff, Rom. 4:17B) This law is evident everywhere in scripture though
it is in the form of fragments. It is thus the work of the Holy Spirit to help
the believer put these fragments together so that he or she can see the whole
picture of who God is and how to get the things he or she wants. (Matt 7:7)
WHAT CAN YOUR FAITH DO
For
us to know what our faiths can do for us, let us first of all examine some
basic realms or levels of faith that we operate in at one point in time.
THE
REALMS OF FAITH:
1
The
Self motivated Faith: This is a level of
faith that is based on personal conviction. You just believe that things are
working or will work to your advantage with God by your side. (Heb. 11:4-5,
22-27)
2
The
Staggered or the Pendulum-like Realm:
This is the realm of faith that is mixed with unbelief. It is the realm of
faith that causes a believer to trust God now and the next moment he or she is
not so sure of God can do. Sometimes, he doubts God and then believes. Heb
11:11, 32-34
3
The
Unstaggered or Unwavering Realm: This level of
faith allows the believer to receive that which God has promised him or her.
The believer holds onto the promises of God until answers or solutions are
given to their problems. God honours this level of faith because his words must
come to pass. Heb 11: 2, 7-10, 13-21, 27-29, 31
4
The
Creative Realm: This is the highest level of faith.
It is the type of faith that God Himself used to create the worlds. Heb 11:3,
29-30 and it is this level of faith that distinguishers a Christian from the
rest of the world. This power was handed to man in Gen 1:26-28 and Adam started
working in it before the fall Gen. 2: 19-20
How
did God operate in this realm of faith?
(Luke 6: 45) All God needed was to call those things he wanted into existence.
He didn’t call them out from heaven; He simply called them out of the earth by
commanding the earth to bring them forth. Gen. 1: 11-12, 20-22, 24
Conclusion:
This was the realm of faith as seen in the life of Elijah in 2Kings 1:10,
Elisha in 2 Kings 2:14 (parted Jordan, 2 Kings 2:19-22 (turn bitter water), 2
Kings 2:6 (Shunimite woman and the pots of oil), Jesus at the thumb of Lazarus
John 11, Peter and John and the man at the beautiful gate, the angel at the
pool of Bethesda etc.
For
us to take our place as Christians and to showcase the power of God that
worketh in us through Jesus Christ in the person of the Holy Spirit, we must
operate at the level of the creative faith by bringing healing to the sick,
delivering and setting the captives free, turning men to God by the working of
signs and wonders. This type of faith does not coming by hearing the word only
but by speaking and acting on the word
of God. You can only speak of what you have conceived in your mind and act on
what you have hidden in your heart (Luke 6: 45)
Lets
create our first miracle today: Call those things you want in your life, believe that they have happened and you will see them happen.
Receive
the power to begin to operate in the creative realm of faith in Jesus name.
